Move-In Tips For Students:

  • Check your school housing site for their recommended packing list
  • Contact your roommate before you buy anything to see what he or she plans to bring
  • A bathrobe is a good investment if your bathroom is down the hall. You'll need a shower caddy to keep all of your shower items.
  • Pack your computer and printer in the boxes that they came in.

2010 UA Yearly Water Program:

 

 

Reduce your water cost.  Order a fully sustainable, planet friendly, premium quality, water package. The program offers 13 - (5 gal) jugs per semester with the use of an energy star cooling unit. We'll even give you an extra bottle free for a total of 14 bottles in the first semester.  Bottles have "no spill" caps. Deliveries will be every other week (bi-weekly during each semester). Water jug will be left outside the resident's hall room door on scheduled delivery days. Order now and have it delivered on move-in day.

The program includes cooler rental and thirteen 5-gallon jugs per semester (approx 3 jugs per month). The price is $149 per school year semester.

 

For students living in single rooms, our single student program is priced the same as a semester program.  The program includes cooler rental and thirteen 5-gallon jugs delivered over the course of the entire school year (approx 1.5 jugs per month).  The price is $149 per school year.   

 

Note:

The Semester Water program is a semester charge of $149.00.  There will be an automatic billing of $149.00 in January 2011 for the 2nd semester unless you contact USS to cancel.

Fall 2010 Semester Laundry Program:

 

Sign up for the USS Laundry Program.  Your service will begin the first full week of school and continue throughout the semester.  Any items that you want to be laundered can be placed in the USS laundry bag and we will pick it up once a week.  Your laundry will be washed, dried, folded and returned to a convenient location on campus (listed below).  Drop your bag off anytime on Monday or Wednesday between 4:00pm and 8:00pm.  Pick up the next delivery day.  If you drop on Monday, you will get it back on Wednesday.  Drop it off on Wednesday and you will get it back on Monday.  Laundry returned will be fluffed, folded, and ready to be put back in your dresser.

 

Important Information:  Each student's clothing is given individual attention.  All clothes are washed and dried individually.  No clothes are washed (batched) with others.  Clothes are also washed and dried using "environmentally safe detergents and dryer sheets provided by Shaklee Inc, an EPA Climate Leader with a 50+ year record as a leader in environmental stewardship."

Laundry Instructions For Fall 2010 Participants:

Pick up your bag at our convenient USS Laundry drop off center starting August 23rd, 2010 between the hours of 4:00pm and 8:00pm.  The USS attendant will give you your bag and ask you to fill out your identification tag.  If you can't make Monday, drop by on Wednesday during the same hours.    

HOURS: The USS drop off site is open every Monday and Wednesday during the hours of 4:00pm and 8:00pm.  

SERVICE DATES: Service begins the week of August 23rd, with the last week being the week of Dec. 5th.    

 

 
FAQ's:

  • What if I miss my Monday drop, can I drop off my clothes on Wednesday?
    Yes, but your clothes won't be returned until the next drop off/pick up day which would be the following Monday. We encourage students to drop off on Monday so they have them back by Wednesday.
  • What is the size of the bag and what can I put in the bag?
    Your bag holds 20lbs of clothing. Put anything that can be laundered and doesn't require ironing. No dry cleaning items are allowed. Items will be dried, fluffed, folded, packed in plastic, and ready to be put in your drawers. Please make sure the bag will close. Bags that are over stuffed and can't close will not be picked up.  Remember, you are allowed to have 1 bag per week cleaned.
  • For comparison purposes, what is the cost per pound for the program?
    The USS Laundry Program is priced less than $.60/lb.  Now compare that to any launderer in the city and you will understand why USS is the favored laundry company of Universities nationwide.  Others charge from $1.00/lb - $1.25/lb and don't emphasize planet friendly techniques.

UA 2010 Dry Cleaning Program:

 

One doesn't need to sign up for the laundry program to use the dry cleaning service.  It is open to all students/faculty.  All you do is review the pricing, select the items to be cleaned and pay right online.  Receive an immediate receipt when you place your order and bring it with your clothes to the USS laundry desk located in 3 convenient residence halls around campus.  These sites are open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.  This is the same site where students drop off laundry.  The dry cleaning will be placed in a special bag and returned the next drop off day for pick up.

Fall 2010 Semester Housekeeping Program:

 

Our Keep It Clean program includes every other week bathroom cleaning of your bathroom, bedroom, or both.  

 

Our basic Bathroom Service includes a full cleaning of toilet and shower stall, including the shower door/curtain, walls, floor, fixtures, sweep and wet mop the bathroom floor, as well as dust light fixtures and all high corners for dust/cobwebs.

Note:  Bathroom cleaning only applies to rooms with suite-style bathroom shared by 2 or 4 students.  Residence Life custodial staff cleans suite-style bathrooms once a week at Pima, Babcock, Sky View, and every other week at Coronado.  University of Arizona staff cleans the community bathrooms down the hall daily.

 

Our Bedroom Service includes vacuuming the floor areas that are free of encumbrances.  Emptying all trash (non recyclable) that has been placed in a proper waste contained and removed from premises.  Dusting and cleaning all unencumbered surfaces, window sills, high corners, light fixtures, window blinds/shades, vanity mirrors, etc.

 

A Combo Program that includes both of the above services is available.

Housekeeping service starts the week of August 29th, 2010.  

SPECIAL NOTE: Our housekeepers are forbidden to move your items from the floor or sink area. Please remove any items from the sink or counter area, or push everything to one end. You will need to pick up your bathroom rugs or mats, so that our housekeepers can mop the floor. They will not lay the mats/rugs back down because the floor will be wet.
